Έργα από την έκθεση «Ο Μοντέρνος Μύθος: Μυθολογικά Σχέδια στη Μοντέρνα εποχή», “The Modern Myth: Drawing Mythologies in Modern Times” at The Museum of Modern Art

Η έκθεση «Ο Μοντέρνος Μύθος: Μυθολογικά Σχέδια στη Μοντέρνα  εποχή»  στο Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης της Νέας Υόρκης (ΜοΜΑ) απέδειξε ότι το κλασικό καλλιτεχνικό θέμα της μυθολογίας είναι ζωντανό και καλά κρατεί στον 21ο αιώνα.

Κάθε ένα από τα 50 έργα της έκθεσης, τα οποία δημιουργήθηκαν μεταξύ 1797 και 2008, άμεσα ή έμμεσα, αντλούν από την ανεξάντλητη πηγή της Κλασικής μυθολογίας την έμπνευσή τους.

Σε μερικά, όπως το εξώφυλλο του περιοδικού "Μινώταυρου" του Πάμπλο Πικάσο (1933), η επιρροή είναι προφανής.

Είτε έτσι είτε αλλιώς, αυτή η έκθεση μας ώθησε να δούμε μερικούς από τους πιο γνωστούς και αγαπημένους καλλιτέχνες σε ένα νέο "μυθολογικό" φως.

Η έκθεση υλοποιήθηκε  στο Μουσείο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης της Νέας Υόρκης από τις 10 Μαρτίου μέχρι τις έξι  Σεπτεμβρίου του 2010.
